Homemade mayonnaise

Jar of Mayonnaise

You will need a blender or food processor.

1 egg
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
Salt to taste
1 1/4 cups safflower oil. DO NOT USE OLIVE OIL OR MOTOR OIL, THE MAYONNAISE WILL TASTE TOO STRONG!

Read recipe through before starting.

  1. Place 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of mustard, a sprinkle of salt and 1 tablespoon of oil in blender or food processor.

  2. Turn blender or food processor on high.

  3. While the machine is running, SLOWLY DRIP 1\4 cup oil through the top.

  4. Pour remaining oil into the running blender or food processor.

  5. IMMEDIATELY turn off motor. If you can still see oil on top of the mayonnaise, blend a few more minutes. Do not blend longer or the mayonnaise will thin down.

Enjoy your homemade Mayonnaise.
Keep refrigerated. Lasts 7-10 days.
